The objectives for flexible working
at National Australia Bank (NAB)

NAB has three core objectives around which their
strategy is built:
Improve customer and client satisfaction
Produce more satisfied employees
Improve productivity.
Like Rabobank and Interpolis, the NAB journey
to flexible working started a few years ago with
Campus MLC (a business that NAB acquired) that had
adopted a seminal building and new way of working
based around communities and collaboration.
When NAB opened their first building in Melbourne’s
Docklands at 800 Bourke Street, they developed the MLC
concepts and created an exceptional building that centred
people on open atria and introduced a sense of transparency
that allowed people to connect and see the business at work.
Now in 700 Bourke Street, their new building sets the bar for
an exemplary activity based workplace that is now home for
6,000 people. The project was part of a restructure of their
Melbourne portfolio that witnessed 12,000 people moving to
activity based working.
